KONA Core 2.6.15h1

Rolled out in the EU region on 2023-05-15 and in the NA region on 2023-05-16.

What changed

  • Bulk operations on gateways: select several gateways, then apply a configuration, read the configuration status, schedule a BSP upgrade or read the BSP upgrade status. See Configure Gateways and Upgrade Gateway Firmware.
  • ADR improvements, with unchanged defaults. A more conservative ADR slope needs a higher average SNR before the data rate increases. A range of NbTrans can now be set for each data rate. See Adaptive Data Rate (ADR).
  • Changes to note: manual setup of NbTrans Min and NbTrans Max will be deprecated, and the ADR API has a change that isn't backward compatible.

KONA Core 2.6.15

Rolled out in the EU region on 2023-04-11 and in the NA region on 2023-04-12.

What changed

  • Usage statistics in the REST API: the number and traffic volume of integration API calls for uplinks and downlinks, and the maximum number of onboarded devices and gateways in the report period. See Usage Statistics & Reports.
  • Bug fixes.

KONA Core 2.6.14

Rolled out in the EU region on 2023-03-08 and in the NA region on 2023-03-09.

What changed

  • Usage statistics in the REST API: active devices and gateways, and provisioned devices and gateways, in the report period. See Usage Statistics & Reports.
  • Brute-force protection for sign-in: a 10-second timeout after each sign-in attempt. See Security & Keys.
  • Bug fixes.

KONA Core 2.6.13

Rolled out in the EU region on 2023-02-08 and in the NA region on 2023-02-09.

What changed

  • TLS required by default for new gateways that connect over MQTT: configure new gateways for port 8883 instead of 1883. Gateways added before 2.6.13 need no change. To allow connections without TLS, select Allow non TLS MQTT connection, or set isAllowNotTlsConnection to true in the API (default false). See Onboard a KONA Gateway via MQTT.
  • The frmPayload field is removed from the payload metadata of the Custom v2 decoder. Send app payload encrypted alone controls decryption, and the payload arrives as input.bytes. Custom (V1) decoders are not affected. See Payload Converters Overview.
  • Longer description field in alarm messages.
  • Performance optimization.
  • Bug fixes.

KONA Core 2.6.12

Rolled out in the EU region on 2022-11-14 and in the NA region on 2022-11-15.

What changed

  • Extended status information for HTTP and MQTT integrations, with detailed error descriptions.
  • Better duty-cycle handling for Class C downlinks.
  • Minor bug fixes.

KONA Core 2.6.11

Rolled out in the EU region on 2022-09-27 and in the NA region on 2022-09-28.

What changed

  • New HTTP and MQTT integration types with more configurable parameters.
  • New decoder type: a customisable uplink message structure and more metadata values.
  • New encoder type: a customisable downlink message structure.

KONA Core 2.6.10

Rolled out in the EU region on 2022-07-18 and in the NA region on 2022-07-19.

What changed

  • Better use of network server resources.
  • Gateway log API change: DEVICE_ACTIVITY_STATE and GW_ACTIVITY_STATE events are no longer reported in gateway log messages. Use the events API to get the activity state of devices and gateways.
